The way in.

Atlanta makes the progression unusually clear. Start at Bronze to learn to skate; decide about contact as your skills develop. If officiating interests you, ask about Ref School at the same time because it can change both your training and your dues.

Recruitment nights introduce the Academy before recurring dues begin. Bronze covers basic skating; Silver introduces contact and rules; Gold joins league practices and requires scrimmage hours before draft eligibility. Assessment is based on readiness, with opportunities typically every 8–12 weeks.

Ask the Academy coordinator for your session’s practice location and arrival instructions.

Atlanta’s league site describes its Golden Glide venue project, but the Academy page does not publish a dependable address for every training session. Ask for the practice address, access arrangements and weekly schedule together.

Recruitment cycles; ask next dateAcademy describes roughly three recruitment cycles a year, often around February, May and August. Those are typical windows, not confirmed booking dates. Missing a cycle’s recruitment nights means waiting for the next cycle.

The money part.

After the recruitment period, the page lists Bronze dues of $35 per month and $45 for Silver or Gold, with $75 annual supplemental insurance. Bronze participants attending Ref School can have their dues waived. The coordinator also invites conversations about financial hardship.

What you can borrow

A lending library supplies skates, pads and helmets while you decide whether to continue. Confirm sizes and your personal mouthguard requirement.

Who the program is for

Bronze is explicitly open gender and non-contact. ARD’s contact pathway follows WFTDA eligibility; the Academy can refer skaters to open-gender Terminus for contact training. Officials can continue skating at Bronze without moving into contact.

Age:Adult program; confirm minimum with Academy.
