The way in.

A strong starting point if you want to try coached skating before buying a full kit. The intro series leads to a membership conversation, so you can learn what ongoing derby involves before committing to monthly dues.

Start with the four-week Adult Intro to Derby series. Rose City welcomes people who have never skated. After the series, an online orientation explains membership and the practice options available at your level. Recreational and competitive skating have separate paths; signing up for an intro does not put you on a home team.

Where & when.

The Hangar at Oaks Park, Portland. Confirm the entrance and meeting point with your registration.

The Hangar hosts Rose City bouts and skating programs. Membership practice times change as skaters progress. Use the session confirmation for your arrival details, rather than assuming a public game schedule is a practice schedule.

October series listedThe page lists an October 17, 2026 start, Saturdays 8–10 a.m. It also retains an August announcement. Follow the October registration link on the league page and confirm availability there.

The money part.

PUBLISHED PRICE / USD$77/month membership; $75/year supplemental insurancepublished

The joining FAQ publishes $77 monthly dues and $75 annual WFTDA insurance for adults. The four-week intro price is a separate registration question. Rent n’ Roll gear is available at no additional cost; bring or buy your own mouthguard. Limited adult dues scholarships are described for members with at least six months in the league.

Gear & eligibility.

What you can borrow

Rent n’ Roll offers skates and protective equipment. A mouthguard is personal equipment and is not part of a loan.

Who the program is for

The skating program follows the WFTDA gender statement. Officials and volunteers are recruited across all genders. Junior skating begins through separate age-specific programs.

Age:18+ for adults; separate junior programs.

The entry program and a competitive roster may have different requirements. Start with the program named here and ask about the next step you want to take.
